Cathedral Spring Convention ? Where is it?

It’s at St Andrew’s Cathedral from 1.30 to 5pm. Don Carson and Philip Jensen are speaking. Costs $20 including afternoon tea.

This week. I will be contributing that 4.5% unemployment statistics again, my contract finished last Fri.

The Fin market is pretty much dead........... I upset I couldn’t get a job I want to do to pay back my hard work.

And the worst is I don’t have anyone to share ...............

Ray
That’s very disappointing for you I know, even though you expected it to happen.  Can you look outside the finance industry for work in the meantime?  Will commit you to prayer today.

It has been 5 wks being unemployed.
I have reached to the lowest point in my life.

Unlike Fin. market, there might be few rebound after some significant drop.

In my life, it didn’t happen..............
My youth faded away with empty hands.
I have never earn any of my hard work back at all.........
I wonder how far can I push forward for it.
I wish I no longer remember much of my life.......

I also wonder what God’s timing is.
How much of life is lost in wait?

Best wishes in the job search. Keep smiling, keep trusting. Obviously God doesn’t think you’re needed in the finance industry right now.

Hi Ray and everyone,

Just to let you all know that I’ve rejoined the newly unemployed club, as my contract has not been renewed owing to funding cuts triggered by the financial crisis (=F.C.).

Had a really lovely interview with a GPS school last week, but despite impressing them, I missed out on the job offer.

As such, I don’t expect to know where I’ll be teaching next year until the end of Jan.’09. And in light of the F.C., it may not be easy to find decent work that allows me to press on with my part-time university studies.

Amicalement,

Tiffany wondered about this. As far as she could see, children mostly argued, shouted, ran around very fast, laughed loudly, picked their noses, got dirty and sulked. Any seen dancing and skipping and singing had probably been stung by a wasp.

Tia, I feel for you - there have been many jobs shed in my industry too, and my position is certainly not immune to the looming axe either.  Having spent a lengthy period of time “between jobs” a few years ago I know it can be really tough going and incredibly disheartening.  I shall be praying that you persevere through it all and stay trusting in God as a sovereign loving God who in all things works for the good of those who love him, despite how it might appear to us at times when things are going “all wrong”.

Thanks Kathryn. At least my reports and assignment are now out of the way and I have time to jobsearch - not that there’s much out there now. At any rate, having not slept in the last 32 hours (it was the assignment’sfault), I’m feeling a bit too woozy to worry just yet!

Tia

Take it easy and have some sleep.

I lost my job almost for 2 months. I know I won’t able to get any job before Christmas. I have been doing a lot of storm watch.  even the Fed lend them some money, there is a really high chance General Motor will collapse before April 09. The market won’t recovery till next year May / June.

I’m planning to do Charted Financial Analysis (CFA) next year. I got plenty of motivation to do it now. The whole course is all about Capital protection / reserve management, Portfolio management and Securities valuation.

Well, I think I’ve tidied up most loose ends now - just in time for the school holidays!

As one can probably tell from the slight increase in bubbliness in the language I’m using, I’ve had decent sleep in the last week. If only there were decent teaching jobs advertised in the paper - but as it’s now the weekend before Christmas, I know from prior experience that it’s way too much to expect!

Anyhow, I think I have a 4-digit tax return cheque sum that I can fall back on at least until February when the new school year starts. As long as I can keep my family from jumping on my back too often about ”what I’m going to do”, I’m expecting rest and refreshment over Christmas & New Year.

We’ll see what God provides - when I need it to be provided (on or after Australia Day 2009). Until then, shabbat shalom.
